Ellen Carr is a high yield portfolio manager at Weaver C. Barksdale (WCB), a boutique institutional fixed income management firm. She has two decades of high yield research, analysis, and portfolio
management experience through two credit crises (2002 and 2008). Prior to joining WCB in 2013, Ms. Carr was a high yield analyst and portfolio manager at The Capital Group/American Funds from 1999-2012, where she was responsible for $4 billion AUM across Capital’s high yield strategies, including a sleeve of its flagship high yield fund (ticker AHITX).
As a high yield analyst, Ms. Carr served on two official unsecured creditor committees in Chapter 11 proceedings (Winn-Dixie and General Growth Properties), and participated in numerous ad-hoc bondholder committees.
Ms. Carr is also an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School, where she teaches courses on the credit cycle and cash flow forecasting, and at the University of North Carolina Asheville, where she is vice chair of the Department of Management and Accountancy’s advisory board. She has authored two case studies of leveraged buyouts published by Columbia CaseWorks.
Ms. Carr received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BA (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kapp) from Harvard College. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder.
Ms. Carr lives with her son in Asheville, NC. She is active in her community, serving as a board member of her local NPR affiliate, a board member of the national NPR Foundation, and a member of the finance committee of the Community Foundation of Western NC. Ms. Carr also manages a family foundation (carrfamilyfoundation.org) which awards college scholarships in rural communities.

Katrina Dudley, CFA is a Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager and Investment Strategist at Franklin Templeton Investments, one of the world's largest asset managers. She co-manages the Franklin Mutual Global Discovery and Franklin Mutual European Fund. Franklin Mutual Series is a deep value investment manager, founded in 1949. Prior to joining Mutual Series, Ms. Dudley worked at Federated Investors, Inc and Ernst & Young LLP.
Ms. Dudley has a passion for advocating for women in investment management and she mentors many up-and-coming women and is part of Franklin's Women@FT initiative. She is also a co-founder of the Iron Skirts, a group of female industrial investors that help rising female industrial executives understand Wall Street. Ms. Dudley earned an M.B.A. from New York University's Stern School of Business, a Law degree (with first class honors) and a Commerce degree from Bond University (Australia), and an Associate of Science degree (Computer Science) from the University of the People.
Within her community, she is Vice Chair of the Board of The Children’s Village and Chair of the Audit Committee. The Children's Village is a $100 million revenue social services organization based on Dobbs Ferry NY.
She is a member of the AEI Leadership Network, a Guest Lecturer at the Columbia Business School and the Stern School of Business and a frequent market commentator on Bloomberg and CNBC
